But though a war may well be "too stupid," that doesn't prevent its lasting. Stupidity has a knack of getting its way; as we should see if we were not always so much wrapped up in ourselves.

[Alice]The most important thing at the moment is that I am now an ace at changing nappies. Time me, I guarantee you I'll beat you every damn time. Also, Algie owled me today. Wants to know if Neville wants a toad. Told him Neville still thinks we're nothing but feeding/holding/changing machines, but that Trevor XXVII (or whatever the number will be when we get to that point) can indeed be his pet when he's old enough, so long as his lovely mum appreciates a good toad waddling around the house. [/ ward][Severus]I meant to say this before, but things happened. At any rate, thanks for the goods. They were well used. [/ ward][Araminta]Happy belated birthday, I guess. Only reason I'm saying it is because mum wanted to send you potted nettles, but didn't have your address. Want to oblige her and pass it on? [/ ward]

additionally, since I'm not keen on dragging his name into my previous entry -- Rodolphus Lestrange is no longer a direct threat to us. his body was delivered to his family early this morning.
I have gideon's dogtag.
ETA: and I hasten to add that I will be unimpressed if anyone feels like rubbing their noses in their loss. they're going to be angry. they're going to be dangerous. they'll want their revenge, so this is not the time to let our guard down.

one more from me, since I don't want to mix business with family more than I already have, but. rodolphus lestrange is dead. likely we'll have to brace ourselves for what comes next, but it's one less death eater we need to worry about.

[Jo]
what I said. doesn't make things even or right or I don't know. but that man could not have been permitted to exist any longer. & thank you.

[Severus]
it's finished. meant to get to you sooner, but things happened. I'm assuming you know the news by now?

[Alice]This gets out to no one: I have Rodolphus Lestrange in custody. That's what I was busy with yesterday. And will be again today. Patronus if the baby... you know. [/ ward][Jo]Jo, this is eyes only, but I have something that might interest you. Meet me at Lancaster Gate (near Paddington), will side you along from there (Moody's paranoia has spread, he'll be pleased). [/ ward]

Can't put this off any longer -- I'll be at Ted's, packing everything up. If Andromeda ever regains her senses and returns with Dora (if they even let them lea, then I want their things to be intact.
Good luck with the broadcast today. Rip our purist listeners a new one.

[Severus Snape]
Something to put your mind slightly more at ease: our purist friends will be distracted, if not entertained, by things on the air today.

[Private / Alice can read]
None of our losses have been easy to bear, but Marlene's has been especially painful. Working on her plants was difficult. Another one of our bright kids gone. And now Tabitha; and James & Peter are out of our reach. Temporarily, Christ. We will get them back. But they may as well be speaking in tongues for all the bullshit they're going on about. Alice is right to be worried about our own security, because we have Merlin, 3 weeks to go.
I don't know who we should ask to be Hippo's godparents. It was supposed to be Ted, but Ted is dead, and Andromeda walked back into the snake pit, and for all that I love that little girl of theirs, Andie is out of the question now. Moody? I think we could ask him, for that and if he would be willing to be our Secret Keeper. I trust him irrevocably. There's also the fact that I want to see his constant vigilance in play when he's burping the baby and changing nappies.
› Neville Theodore › Louise Olive / Olive Louise
I think those are the only decent combinations we've managed.

Quick show of hands on the matter of Doris Crockford's membership. She's already with us, and I would rather keep her as one of our own rather than wipe her memory and make her a peripheral asset to the Order. Personally, I want her with us.
How are we doing on the expansion of the safehouse? Hestia, I think you mentioned converting parts of it so that it's more useful in a practical sense? This is definitely a short-term project that we should pursue.
And to echo Moody: has there been any sign or word from Tabitha?

[Aberforth, Alice, Moody]
Curious thing happened last night at the centre. Got interrupted by a Death Eater who seemed slightly more interested in causing damage to the building than to me. Since I managed to take his mask, I got a good look at him, but before I put the question to the masses, perhaps one of you might have some idea why one of them would be putting holes into the wall instead of me.
